Many employees who had multiple accounts along with incorrect or duplicate Provident Fund (PF) accounts can now solve the anomaly themselves through the improved EPFO portal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Previously, employees were forced to take leave to visit the nearest EPFO Regional Office to get their PF accounts in line, a nightmare situation for millions. Now, you can place your request to remove or delink incorrect or duplicate Member IDs (MIDs) from their Universal Account Numbers (UANs) directly through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epfindia.gov.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">portal<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>A right step towards e-governance<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This development is another step by the EPFO to ease its operations, as it migrates most of its services to its improved EPFO portal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier, technical glitches meant multiple MIDs were generated for the same employee, while MIDs were linked to the wrong Aadhaar Numbers due to KYC mismatches. This made withdrawing funds or closing accounts extremely difficult.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Approvals will be done online<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If there are incorrect\/duplicate MIDs associated with your name, your request to delink them will be forwarded to your employer for verification and further to the Regional Office(RO).
